Musician Arian Hu Releases Debut Album, "New Day"

An ugly cruelty of our time is when adverse conditions forces someone to abandon their dreams. But even in desperate and difficult conditions, musician Arian Hu never gave up on his dream. In his unwavering desire to be a musician, Arian Hu has released his debut album. Titled “New Day,” rising star Arian provides the listener with a looking glass into his life. In his nine-track album, Arian’s collection of compositions begins at childhood, and culminates into the National Anthem of Refugees, a piece written for the Refugee Nation and the 2016 Refugee Team of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio.

“Music is the best language to deliver my message to humanity, which is to love each other, and this language does not require a translation.”

-Arian Hu

Arian was born in Al-Qamishli, a city in Northeastern Syria. In 2002, Arian was recognized as an oud player and singer from the Institute of Music Education in Al-Qamishli, Syria. Arian continued his education from 2007 to 2010 at the Al-Basil Institute of Music in Damascus, Syria. The Syrian conflict would eventually push Arian to flee from his country. From there, he traveled to northern Iraq, then to Istanbul, where he continued his music career and met his wife.

It was in Turkey where Arian completed his musical compositions, many of which he started in Syria. Since then, Arian has performed many concerts in Japan and China, where he performed various music pieces and sang songs in multiple languages. Some of his notable compositions include “Borderless” for Denmark’s Carion Wind Quintet, and “Memories from My Land” for British classical pianist Margaret Fingerhut. Fingerhut would later go on to perform the piece in thirty concerts across Britain in 2019.

The release of his album was delayed because of the difficult conditions that came with Arian’s migrant story. But that didn’t stop Arian. There is more in store for this talented musician. When it comes to his passion for music, there’s no sitting down for Arian Hu.
